    Description

There are tiny pin holes at bottom of calendar edge which probably help a detachable paper calendar pad? There is a lite scuff at right calendar edge(see pics) and some creasing/kinking of paper probably done in lamination of paper to cardboard in center mans red coat. Otherwise this calendar art is bright and crisp from storage in the files of Jes Schlaikjer!

    ESTATE of JES SCHLAIKJER
    1942
Several years ago while living in Baltimore Maryland I purchased some of the contents from the Estate of Artist and Illustrator Jes Schlaikjer!
I will be listing Posters, Magazines, Photographs and various other forms of art from his estate including original pencil drawings and a small painting etc.
This 11 1/2" x 16" cardboard calendar top with info sheet is dated 1942 and shows the planning of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1945 image. Pictured on the calendar are the heads of our war and Navy departments in 1845 inspecting the grounds of Fort Severn, recommended to be the site of the new "Naval School of Instruction".
Pictured from left to right are Navy Secretary Bancroft, Brevet Major Gardner, War Secretary Marcy and Commodore Warrington.
